OCM (Organizational Consultants to Management) Consulting is a human resources consulting firm specializing in career transitions, employee career management and development, executive coaching, and executive search services. Founded in 1970, OCM has grown to become the Intermountain West’s preferred outplacement service provider to all industries.  In 1999, OCM partnered with Lee Hecht Harrison (LHH), the preeminent global career management services company to assist downsized employees to successfully reestablish themselves in new positions.

Staffed with professionals having a wealth of functional, industry and educational expertise, OCM is able to offer the highest level of customer centered experience in the Intermountain market.  As a LHH global partner, OCM offers extended high quality services to our clients through Lee Hecht Harrison’s 240 offices in 36 countries.

 

OCM History:

OCM’s history goes back to the early 1970’s when the original company, under a different name, began as an executive search firm, specializing in the mining industry.  During the 1980’s, many mining firms were more interested in scaling back their employee base and asked if we could help with that process.  Soon, the demands for outplacement assistance became so great that a new firm separate from the executive search firm, was spun off, and in 1990, adopted the name Organizational Consultants to Management (OCM).

During the 1990’s, OCM grew to become the largest outplacement firm in the Intermountain West.  We saw a need, however, to partner with one of the large international career transition firms in order to grow.  In 1998, we joined the Lee Hecht Harrison team as a Global Partner, representing them in Idaho, Nevada, Utah, Wyoming, and Montana.  To serve our clients better, we continued to expand beyond our original Salt Lake City market, adding offices in Boise, Las Vegas, Reno, Ogden (UT) and Orem (UT).

As market conditions changed, so did the need to re-organize OCM.  In 2004, OCM became two separate companies, with the Utah-based offices banding together as one company and the outlying offices (Boise, Las Vegas, and Reno) forming another.  Both firms remain part of Lee Hecht Harrison.

OCM in Idaho has come full circle and once again offers our clients executive search services.  In addition, we provide human resources consulting, training and executive coaching.
